With the Lantronix Open-Q™ 8550CS Development Kit, developers can quickly set up and validate complex camera, display, audio, and sensor configurations.

At its core, the kit features the Open-Q™ 8550CS System on Module, based on the Qualcomm Dragonwing™ QCS8550. It delivers a premium Edge AI platform and enables the efficient integration of demanding vision, AI, security, and audio workloads. For always-on scenarios, the development kit supports the evaluation of the low-power AI subsystem with dedicated DSP and AI accelerator, for example for always-on audio, sensors, contextual data streams, and an always-on camera.

The kit combines an open-frame carrier board with full access to available I/O, an accessory package to accelerate product development, and standard sockets for flexible expansion. This makes it ideal for multi-camera systems, edge AI gateways, video collaboration, retail, cloud gaming, industrial drones, and autonomous mobile robots.
For rapid prototyping and reliable validation, the kit offers extensive interface support, from C-PHY and D-PHY MIPI CSI and GMSL cameras to dual MIPI DSI, HDMI and DisplayPort, as well as an audio codec and DMICs. Sensor interfaces for the Qualcomm Sensing Hub, Gigabit Ethernet, digital I/O and CAN, and power measurement connectors further strengthen early performance and power profiling.
