The EMASS ECS-DoT Low-Power AI SoC Development Kit is an evaluation and prototyping platform for the rapid development and validation of compact Edge-AI applications with the application-ready, ultra-low-power Edge-AI ECS-DoT SoC. 

As a dedicated evaluation platform for the ECS-DoT SoC with interfaces for cameras, microphones, and other sensors, the development kit enables developers to evaluate and validate local audio, vision, and sensor-processing workloads for multi-sensor application development before integrating the ECS-DoT into a product-specific design. 

ABOUT THE EMASS ECS-DoT SoC

The EMASS ECS-DoT is designed to bring intelligence directly to the sensor edge by processing audio, vision, and sensor-fusion workloads locally with reduced cloud dependency, communication latency, and transmission of sensitive sensor data.

  • Compute Architecture: 32-bit RISC-V control core with floating-point support and dual DL accelerators delivering up to ~30 GOPS
  • Model Compression: Integrated model decompression for highly compressed neural networks (~1.3 bits/weight); enables larger models within limited on-chip memory
  • Memory: Up to 4 MB on-chip memory, incl. 2 MB SRAM and 2 MB non-volatile MRAM; no external DRAM required
  • Power Efficiency: AI inference at around 5 mW with fine-grained power gating for always-on operation
  • Local Processing: On-device sensor fusion reduces latency and cloud dependency while improving data privacy
  • System Integration: minimal BOM requirements, simplified system design
  • Interfaces: I²C, I²S, UART, QSPI, CPI camera interface and 32 GPIOs
  • Form Factor: Compact 5×5 mm QFN package
  • Applications: Wearables, smart-home sensors, camera nodes, drones, robotics, predictive maintenance; other space- and power-constrained Edge-AI devices
