Founded in 2004, ENGICAM offers services in the field of embedded product design and relies with its team on many years of experience in hardware and software development.

Since 2008, the Italian manufacturer offers a wide range of different product families including CPU SOM modules, board solutions and complete HMI systems for industrial IIoT applications, including display and package. The CPU SOM module products are used in medical technology, transportation and industrial M2M communication. In addition, ENGICAM also focusses to create customer-specific solutions.

ENGICAMs SOM solutions are proven in hundreds of different applications under extremely hard thermal and mechanical operating conditions. Most modules are available in SODIMM format and are compatible with each other in order to have a complete scalability

But ENGICAM is also member of SGET (www.sget.org) consortium, and offers also in its portfolio a wide variety of standard modules based on the SMARC form factor.

We want to introduce here 2 new modules based on the SMARC standard pinout 2.1:

The new SmarCore SOM based on the iMX 8M Plus NXP® processor focuses on machine learning and vision, advanced multimedia, and industrial IoT application with high reliability.  It is based on the powerful Quad Arm® Cortex®-A53 processor with a Neural Processing Unit (NPU) operating at up to 2.3 TOPS and real-time control with Cortex-M7.

The new SmarCore SOM based on the iMX 8M Plus is the new brother device to the already offered SmarcCore SOM with the iMX8X processor.

In addition ENGICAM  introduces also the new SmarCore SOM based on the RK3399 RockChip®  low power, high performance processor for computing and Smart device applications. Based on Big.Little architecture, it integrates dual-core Arm® Cortex-A72 and Quad-core Cortex-A53 with separate NEON coprocessor. It also integrates Mali T860 MP4 GPU.

The base of ENGICAMs SMARC module portfolio is the SmarCore APL-x86 SOM family based on Low Power Intel®Atom™, Celeron® and Pentium® processors (Formerly Apollo Lake).

The SMARC modules will be supported by Linux and Android OS. The Intel based products will be supported besides Linux of course with latest Windows OS

For all SMARC based SOMs- ENGICAM offers a wide range of ready-to-use carrier boards for different industries and business needs, from off-the-shelf products to totally customized solutions.

In addition ENGICAM offers ready to use panel PCs, based on SMARC modules. The capacitive multi-touch panel supports both Linux and Windows OS which allows a really user-friendly graphic user interface. The Panel PC system is very easy to be integrated because of the standard VESA mount and the frames available in different colors.
