  • Interfaces SPI (absolute angle), ABZ phase output (maximum 4096 ppr incremental output), UVW phase output (maximum 32 pole pair)
  • 14-bit angle resolution
  • Less than ±0.5° angle accuracy at +25°C and correction function can further improve accuracy
  • Maximum tracking rat:(25,000 rpm)
  • Various abnormal detection (abnormal magnetic flux density range and so on)
  • Setting function like zero point, rotation direction, ABZ resolution/hysteresis, etc. via serial interface

AKM's high accuracy monolithic Hall effect sensor is specializes in detecting rotation angle.

AKM’s AK7452 is a 14-bit contactless angle sensor that detects the angular position of a magnetic field which is parallel to the IC surface. The AK7452 can track high speeds up to 25,000 rpm. An advanced user calibration function enables it to correct angular errors caused by a variety of problems, including mounting misalignment and magnet characteristics. Shaft-end detection can be detected on the orthogonal side of the shaft. The shaft running through motors systems can also be constructed with the off-axis arrangement. The AK7452 has built-in EEPROM making it possible to program a zero-point setting that can set any angular position to 0 degrees, rotation direction, ABZ output resolution (arbitrary value of 1 ppr to 4096 ppr), and UVW pole number (arbitrary value of 1 to 32).

The angle sensor can easily be constructed in a design using a small magnet and this sensor. The sensor requires a power supply voltage from 3.0 V to 5.5 V. It is offered in a TSSOP 16 package over the extended temp range of -40°C to +125°C.
