Coreless current sensor ICs by AKM
Asahi Kasei Microdevices (AKM) has developed its Currentier series of advanced current sensors based on its highly sensitive compound semiconductor technology, which combines Hall elements with advanced package design and analog circuit technologies. The name “Currentier” is a combination of ‘current’ and “frontier” because its outstanding performance makes it a leading product in the field of current sensors.
Currentier is an open-type magnetic current sensor with an integrated, highly sensitive Hall element that can detect both direct and alternating currents fast and with high accuracy. Despite its compact size, it produces little heat and has high insulation. Currentiers are safe, high-performance products available in many models and suitable for current detection in a wide range of applications designed to solve problems.
Currentier utilizes the characteristics of AKM's compound semiconductor hall elements in the following two ways:
