Drone Remote Controller Unit for Professional UAV Deployments

19. March 2026 | Planegg

The Atlantik Elektronik Drone Remote Controller Unit is a reference design specifically developed for demanding professional UAV missions in challenging industrial, governmental, and security environments.

Powered by a Qualcomm Dragonwing™ SoC, the modular UAV command platform delivers ultra-low-latency HD transmission and integrated edge AI processing for next-generation drone applications. With a control range of up to 20 km and end-to-end latency below 50ms, it can reliably support remote operations in dynamic scenarios.

While the 6000 mAh battery, delivering up to 4 hours of runtime with hot-swap support and 18W quick charging, enables continuous and reliable operation, the operating temperature range from -20°C to +70°C makes the RCU suitable for outdoor operation.

The reference design features a 6.95" FHD touchscreen with up to 1000 cd/m² peak brightness as well as 8 programmable buttons and dials to facilitate operator interaction.

To meet different program and manufacturing needs, we offer flexible integration options (HDMI output, USB Type C, and a MAVLink interface, paired with an open Android software platform supporting OTA updates) and delivery models (Complete Unit, SKD, and CKD).
