AK7401 / 7405 - HIGH SPEED ROTARY ANGLE SENSOR
20. June 2018 | Planegg
Automotive qualified 12-bit angle sensor
AKM
Features/Benefits
- Monolithic integrated 360 degrees angle sensor IC containing hall element.
- Easy to make a contactless rotation sensor with diametrically magnetized mono-pole magnet.
- Interfaces：SPI（Absolute Angle), ABZ phase output（1024ppr Incremental interface)
- 12bit angle resolution
- Less than ±1.00deg angle accuracy at 25℃
- Maximum tracking rate：333rps（20,000rpm）
- Over voltage protection
- Reverse connect protection
- Various abnormal detection（memory data check, abnormal magnetic flux density range and so on）
- Setting function like zero point, rotation direction, ABZ resolution/hysteresis etc. via serial interface
The non-contact angle sensors AK7401/05 have a resolution of 12-bit and are automotive-qualified. Both detect the angular position of a magnetic field parallel to the IC surface. The devices differ in signal interfaces and maximum rotational speed detection, with the AK7405 detecting speeds up to ≤20,000 rpm.
Applications:
Automotive:
- Pedal position sensor
- Steering angle sensor
- Valve position
- Wiper motor controlensor,
- Headlamp position control
- Seat position motor
- Side mirror control
- Electric power steering motor control
- Fuel level sensor, main/sub motor control
Consumer:
- Compact absolute rotary encoder
- Compact input device (mode selector, control volume)
- Substitute for potentiometer
- Rotary switch
